Managing People Challenges in the Family Business

Relationship Realities and Emotional Maturity

In every family business, the emotional state of the family and the future of the business depend on high-functioning relationships. The over-arching goal of this FORUM is to help family businesses build cultures of emotional maturity and responsibility, beginning with self.

John EngelsClose attachments and the intensity of emotional reactivity among family members make healthy family business relationships a particularly challenging goal.  “Emotional viruses” -  avoidance, distance and defensiveness – often threaten healthy connection, at a great cost to the business as well as to the family.

Is there a reliable prevention or medicine to build strong relationships?  The high-integrity road to progress always begins with self.  Well thought out strategies and skills can help solidify relationships that work well, and improve those that are weak or struggling.

This powerful, extended FORUM will address the relationship realities that face families in business, and suggest high-maturity responses to a range of relationship challenges.  Our globally-respected speaker, John Engels, will offer practical examples, science-based ideas and personal stories to enlighten and provoke reflection.

This excellent learning event will feature large-group demonstrations by John, in response to the live issues of attendees.
