Kevin Hancock – An Unexpected Journey to an Employee-Centric 7th Generation Family Enterprise:
CEO of one of the oldest family businesses in America (1848), Kevin Hancock, has a compelling story of how his rare voice disorder transformed his leadership and their company culture, making everyone else’s voice in the company stronger. His Shared Leadership approach is in his book The Seventh Power: One CEO’s Journey into the Business of Shared Leadership (which each attendee will receive):
“An organization’s true value is not defined by revenue growth or profitability. Those are important metrics for our business, but they are outcomes of a higher purpose. The real mission is to enhance the lives of the people who work here.” – Kevin Hancock
Jim Smucker – Developing a “Robust We”:
Selected by Keim’s Board to serve as their first non-family President in 2019, Jim grew up in his family business, Bird-In-Hand Corp (restaurant & hotel business), Bird-In-Hand, PA, where he served as President. Keim is a G4 family-owned business who have been members of DVFBC since 2015.
Jim will share team leadership lessons learned from a failed ERP installation including:
- The importance of facilitating good process and dialog
- Seeing together as a team
- Healthy individuals are required for a strong team
