As we are quickly learning, the landscape of family business can turn in an instant. So what kind of leadership is needed to navigate this difficult terrain? It’s the leadership of a humble guide, one who can plan and strategize but can also let go and adapt.

Join us as we learn from Greg McCann, nationally recognized leadership coach and family business veteran, how to grow as leaders. How might we become more self-aware, grow in our capacity as leaders, and most importantly, emotionally and strategically adapt to the twists and turns of family business in our current climate?

Greg McCann has a personal, deep background in family business. He is currently an owner in his extended family’s business. He is also the founder of McCann & Associates, with over 20 years of experience coaching leaders, executives, and the rising generation.

Greg is a retired full professor from Stetson University where he was the founder of the award-winning Family Enterprise Center.  While at Stetson, Greg led the effort to create the nation’s first major in Family Business. He is the author of two books on family business topics.

Greg presented to our Learning Community in 2007 on the topic of “When Your Parents Sign The Paychecks: Finding Success Inside or Outside the Family Business”, which is also the title of one of his books.

Joining the conversation will be Robert Bergey, G3 President of Bergey’s Electric, Inc. Hatfield.  Robert will share some of the ways he is growing in leadership agility as he has transitioned through various roles in the company and is currently navigating roles in their management, shareholder, and board teams. Robert is a longtime Learning Community and Leadership Lab Member.
