It’s More than the Sandwich
Everyone has values and beliefs that shape who they are and guide their decisions. In this Forum, we’ll explore how one prominent family defines, preserves, and transfers their values across generations. You’ll gain insights on creating meaningful and memorable activities—value experiences—that reinforce your family’s values for your children and grandchildren. Plus, you’ll have the chance to share your own experiences and ideas with other participants.
Like many of our Members, Trudy began working for the family business at age 19. She became an operator of a new Chick-fil-A restaurant in Birmingham, Alabama — making her the youngest Operator at that time. Though she had just finished her freshman year at Samford University, her father – Truett – believed in his only daughter, and handed her the keys. She took a year off from school to run the restaurant and, in that time, hired fellow Samford student, John White. “When he came in, I knew I needed to hire him. It didn’t hurt that he was good-looking.” They’ve been together ever since, and married for 40 years.
After decades as a missionary, camp director, mother of four, and grandmother to 17, Trudy has recognized that our attitudes and habits shape us into stewards in the community, effective leaders, and pillars of inspiration for those around us.
Trudy’s books will be available for purchase, and she’s eager to meet you and answer questions during break and after the Forum!Bring your family, shareholders, key managers, and board members for an inspiring day of learning and a delicious Chick-fil-A lunch!
