Michael S. Farrell is an experienced business leader and advisor with more than 30 years helping family-owned businesses and multigenerational enterprises build, scale, and sustain long-term value. He brings a governance-centered approach that aligns family objectives, strategy, and capital to support durable growth and continuity.
Michael spent the majority of his career at SEI, a global financial services and technology firm, where he worked closely with ultra-high-net-worth families and business owners on strategic growth and wealth management solutions.
His work focuses on the intersection of family values, business performance, ownership, and generational continuity. He has advised families on governance structures, including policies, decision-making frameworks, and board dynamics, enabling alignment across stakeholders while supporting growth. Michael has also guided capital allocation decisions and strategic initiatives such as acquisitions and partnerships to strengthen long-term resilience. His work has helped clients implement disciplined operating models, improve transparency, and align enterprise performance with family priorities.
Michael serves as an Independent Director for Garman Builders Incorporated and the World Affairs Council of Phila (former Chairman), where he supports leadership teams in strengthening governance, clarifying strategy, and aligning mission with execution.
Michael holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business.
Michael and his wife of 38 years are proud of the family they have built, including their three children, two daughters-in-law, and five grandchildren. Outside of his professional work, he enjoys golf, fitness, and, most of all, time with his family.
